Originally from Japan, French cuisine chef Masayuki Hara came to London to work at the three-star Michelin restaurant “La Gavroche" in the late 1980s.
After a variety of experiences at other Michelin star restaurants including "Pru Leiths", "Antony Worrall Thompson", "Richard Corrigan" etc, he became head chef at “Le Phenicien" and "Cave at Caviar House" in Piccadilly.
He started his own catering company “Lanka Catering” in 2006, and opened it’s first cake shop and cafe “Lanka” at Primrose Hill in February 2009.
In February 2012, “Lanka” second shop was opened at Goldhurst Terrace in Finchley Road, which specialises in homemade French style cakes and pure Ceylon teas.

We have been introducing by many medias since we started our business. Reviews were on top class magazines and newspapers internationally, impressed as "Far East Fusion", "French patisserie with hint of Japanese", "A little gem in north London" etc.. London's top magazine picked up our macaroons for “Best 5 macaroons in London”.
People's voices are very important. The story of our shop were whispered from mouth to mouth in blogs and SNS too. We appreciate customer's feed back, it encourages us to the next stage.
